Veneers

No one is born with the perfect smile. In fact, the best smiles in the world took a lot of dental work to get them there. If your smile isn’t quite what you’d like it to be aesthetically— though still overall healthy— we’ve got a cosmetic treatment you should consider: veneers.

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are layers of tooth-colored material that we place over the surface area of your teeth. Veneers fit over your teeth to enhance their appearance. These veneers come with an array of benefits that make this a worthwhile option for many patients.

What Are the Benefits of Dental Veneers?

Teeth often sustain damage throughout life. Even the most conscientious and careful people can experience chipped, stained, cracked, or otherwise damaged or discolored teeth. Eating healthy and establishing good, regular habits of brushing and flossing teeth can only get you so far.

When you’ve done all you can and your smile still isn’t quite what you’d like it to be, veneers are often an excellent solution. They have many benefits, including:

  • Protection.
  • Improved Shape.
  • Improved Color.
  • Covering Cracks and Chips.
  • Making a more uniform appearance.

Veneers can whiten, strengthen, and improve your smile’s overall shape as well as appearance. At Drs Chapman & Owens, we offer two different types of dental veneers for you to choose between: resin and porcelain.

Resin vs. Porcelain Veneers

These two types of materials both accomplish the same end goal: improving the appearance of your teeth while also strengthening them. They just vary a bit in their key ingredients.

Porcelain veneers are quite strong because they are made of a ceramic-like material. Resin veneers are made from a durable composite material. Porcelain veneers can take a bit longer to place, while veneers composed of resin are usually quicker.

The differences aside, one of these options may be the best fit for you and your needs. We can make a recommendation based on the appearance of your smile.
