Veneers
Porcelain and resin options for a stronger, more uniform smile.
No one is born with a perfect smile — the best smiles in the world took a lot of dental work to get there. If your smile isn’t quite what you’d like aesthetically, though still healthy overall, there’s a cosmetic treatment worth considering: veneers.
What Are Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are layers of tooth-colored material placed over the surface of your teeth to enhance their appearance. They come with an array of benefits that make them a worthwhile option for many patients.
What Are the Benefits?
Teeth often sustain damage throughout life. Even the most conscientious people can end up with chipped, stained, cracked, or discolored teeth. Eating well and brushing and flossing regularly can only get you so far.
When you’ve done all you can and your smile still isn’t quite what you’d like, veneers are often an excellent solution. Their benefits include:
- Added protection for the tooth beneath
- Improved shape
- Improved color
- Coverage for cracks and chips
- A more uniform overall appearance
Veneers can whiten, strengthen, and improve your smile’s overall shape and appearance. At Owens Dental, we offer two types to choose between: resin and porcelain.
Resin vs. Porcelain
Both materials accomplish the same goal — improving the appearance of your teeth while strengthening them. They vary mainly in their key ingredients.
Porcelain
Quite strong, made from a ceramic-like material. Takes a bit longer to place.
Resin
Made from a durable composite. Usually quicker to place.
Differences aside, one of these options will likely be the best fit for you and your needs. We can make a recommendation based on the appearance of your smile.
