Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Ronald K. Owens earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland at College Park before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.

While in dental school, he was elected Chapter President of the Student National Dental Association. He later completed a two-year General Practice Residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Dr. Owens is a past President of the Forsyth County Dental Society and served on the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners from 2005 through 2011.
